Behind Àplat
Hi, I'm Fränksên-Willëm!
Okay, that's not true… My name is Francis-William. Besides being an actor, I love woodworking and IKEA.
So I decided to launch Àplat, a site where you can buy custom furniture and still have the fun of putting it together yourself, with as few tools as possible.
Every Àplat piece is drawn as a parametric model, then CNC-cut in Boucherville. That's how it can be made to your measurements, down to the millimetre.
One idea per piece
A graphic silhouette, and quiet details that feel good to look at.
Joints that are easy to read
Mortise and tenon wherever possible: you understand the assembly at a glance.
The edge, on show
Birch plywood with exposed edges, sanded and oiled.
