Umlauts, doubled consonants: our furniture has a Scandinavian accent, but it's cut in Boucherville. Àplat has no connection with IKEA, except maybe Francis-William's delusions of grandeur.

A mallet, at most.

No screws, no glue: the parts fit together with mortise and tenon joints, and the wedges go in with a mallet. Bübliondul, in its version with hooks, even goes together by hand. The mallet isn't included. Only anchoring Bübliondul to the wall, which is required, calls for a drill.

Yes.

With no screws or glue, it comes apart the way it went together and goes back to flat. Handy when you move.

Osmo Polyx-Oil, a hardwax oil.

It's made from plant oils (sunflower, soybean, thistle) and waxes. It resists water, stains and wear, and won't peel or flake. Once dry, it's safe for people, animals and plants, and meets the EN 71.3 toy safety standard.

A damp cloth is all it needs.

Wipe up spills right away and skip household cleaners, which damage the finish. If a surface wears over the years, a thin coat of Polyx-Oil on clean, dry wood brings it back, usually without sanding.

Every piece is CNC-cut there from birch plywood, then sanded and oiled by hand.
