Privacy policy

In short

Àplat collects as little information as possible. The site uses no advertising cookies and no tracking tools, and our audience measurement does not identify you. If you write to us, your message is only used to answer you.

Who is responsible

Àplat is a business based in Boucherville, at 1380, rue de Coulomb, Boucherville QC J4B 7J4. The person in charge of the protection of personal information is the owner of Àplat. For any question or request: bonjour@aplat.ca.

What we collect

• Audience measurement. Vercel Web Analytics tells us which pages are viewed. For each page view, it records the page address, the page you came from, your country and region, your device type, operating system and browser. It sets no cookies and does not tie this data to your IP address: a visit is recognized by a fingerprint computed from the request, deleted after 24 hours. We only see overall statistics.
• Hosting. As with any website, our host, Vercel, receives your IP address to send you the pages and protect the site against abuse. These technical logs are kept for a short time.
• Your preferences. Two cookies remember your choices: the site language (langue) and the units, centimetres or inches (unites). They stay in your browser for one year, contain no personal information and are not used to track you. You can delete them in your browser settings.
• Your configurations. The dimensions you choose in the configurator are written into the page address, so you can share it. They are not tied to your name or your device.
• Your emails. If you write to us, by email or through the form on the Custom page, we receive your name, your email address and what you send us (a project description, dimensions, budget, photos). Photos sent through the form are downsized in your browser before sending, which removes their metadata, such as GPS location. The form sends you a confirmation email. We use this information to answer you and, if you wish, to prepare a quote. We keep these exchanges [DURÉE : 3 ans après le dernier échange ?], then delete them.

What we don't do

We do not sell, rent or trade your information. The site uses no advertising, retargeting or profiling tools (such as Google Analytics or the Meta pixel). If that changes, this policy will be updated and you will be asked for your consent before these tools are turned on.

Where your information is kept

Our providers may store your information outside Quebec, in particular in the United States: Vercel for hosting and audience measurement, Resend to send and receive the site's emails, Google (Gmail) for our inbox. We work with established providers who are contractually bound to protect the information they handle for us.

Online orders

The site does not take orders yet. When the shop opens, this policy will be updated before the first sale, to describe the information needed for an order and payment.

Your rights

At any time, you can:

• find out whether we hold information about you and get a copy of it;
• have inaccurate, incomplete or outdated information corrected;
• withdraw your consent or ask us to delete your information;
• receive your information in a common format, to send it elsewhere.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and only the people who need it have access to your information. If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and the people concerned.

Any change to this policy is published on this page, with its date.
